"Be a Good Citator like Jesus"

As I shared about oppositions in my life in the last Sunday sermon, I guess we fight internal and external opposition every day. Accepting opposition as a part of our life is hard, though, we can go through different types of oppositions with remembering what Jesus went through before us.

One reason that fighting with oppositions in our lives is because of our sinful nature. The Truth always has oppositions as Jesus faced them all His life-long. God wants us to win over those attacks, tests, and temptations in our lives. Therefore, holding the right Truth and having faith in God is important. Otherwise, we are so weak to fall down and fail. As we need to exercise every day for strengthening our basic muscles to do things by ourselves, we need to strengthen our spiritual muscles every day for our soul’s health and growth.

Finally, I started Home Workout that I learned from Maddox with my son, Daniel. Starting new things is always easier than keeping it as a part of my life, though. I plan to start it again every three days if I fail in three days. As I stay at home longer than I expected, I feel I get more loosening my daily life. I hope and pray that I can give more good news about my physical and spiritual health later.

These are the words of Jesus that won the temptation of Satan.

Satan: “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” (Matthew 4:3)
Jesus: “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:4 & Deuteronomy 8:3)
Satan: “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and “‘On their hands, they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’” (Matthew 4:6)
Jesus: “Again it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” (Matthew 4:7 & Deuteronomy 6:16)
Satan: “All these I will give you if you will fall down and worship me.” (Matthew 4:9)
Jesus: “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.’” (Matthew 4:10 & Deuteronomy 6:13-14)

Jesus stood up to his opposition, his antagonists, and gave back at least as good as he received. Some of us would rather avoid conflict and ignore what is being said and done rather than standing up for our beliefs. I pray that through my continued time with my church family I will learn to say what I feel and attest to my faith.

Facing His Opposition:
Even today Jesus is questioned and opposed.
Jesus always faced his opposition with grace and humanity. I cannot imagine being question every time I did something. I feel that is what Jesus faced on a daily basis. His disciples even questioned him at times. The people of that time did not understand what Jesus was attempting to do. They adhered to the authority in power and not a mere man who was attempting to change how they lived their lives. What Jesus showed us was how to live our life, so that we could have eternal life.
I feel we have a better understanding of this then they did back then. We know how the story ends and why Jesus did what he did for us.
I know Jesus faces opposition today even after 2000 years. I am hoping that this challenge we are all facing today, opens the eyes of all the people on earth that God is necessary to beating this virus.
Dearest God, in this Lenten season may we take up this cross we are now given and follow Christ better than we did before. Hoping that those who have forgotten Christ may bring Him back into their life, Amen.
