![]() 22 They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. 23 He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?” 24 He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.” 25 Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. 26 Jesus sent him home, saying, “Don’t even go into[a] the village.” Mark 8:22-26 In today’s reading, we see yet another miracle performed by Jesus, that of bringing a blind man’s sight back. This occurred in Bethsaida, on the See of Galilee. (This miracle is the first one that is recorded in Mark’s Gospel). Please also note in this reading that the people who bring the blind man forward merely ask Jesus to touch the man, not offer blessings or laying of hands. It is quite possible that they knew of other healings He performed anecdotally. Let us pray please – Heavenly God , we thank you for the power that love and compassion can bring into people’s lives – it can heal the wounds of hatred and injustice. Help us to show more kindness, and caring in our daily living. Help us to live our lives more like Your Son Jesus, in whose great name we pray……Amen Yours in Christ , Rollie
