2 Don’t be conformed to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you can figure out what God’s will is—what is good and pleasing and mature. Romans 12:2
10 Create a clean heart for me, God;    put a new, faithful spirit deep inside me!11 Please don’t throw me out of your presence;    please don’t take your holy spirit away from me.12 Return the joy of your salvation to me    and sustain me with a willing spirit.         Psalm 51:10-12

The Psalmist (David) knew is heart was not clean, and he was sad about it, so he prays that God would create, or give him, a clean heart. He asks that the Holy Spirit dwell once more within him. With an unclean heart, there is no true joy within him, and he desires that change as well, that he once again can feel the “joy of your salvation “.          Also thinking about being true to our God, in Paul’s letter, this verse gives us the answer to how we can and should respond to God’s love and mercy for us. It is to devote our lives, our beings to serve Him and worship Him. The “patterns of this world”   ( the me first thinking) needs to be broken , and directed more to caring for others.

Let us pray please :   Holy One …….You know us better than we know ourselves. We live in a  world that wants instant gratification, we think about ourselves first. Help us to break that way of being. Guide us to a better way of living – caring for others, showing compassion for the oppressed, and importantly Lord, giving You the praise and glory that You richly deserve. May our minds, our very souls, be set on You, and Your Son, our Savior Jesus. It is in His name that we pray.  Amen.

Yours in Christ  ,  Rollie

Romans 12: 2

Psalms 51: 10-12

10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

As I go along day by day, I often feel that I have let God down. I always wake up vowing to be better than yesterday, and I often fall into the same old bad habits. I lose my temper, I get angry, I sin. I pray each day for a renewed self and hope that I get better at life as I know it. I pray that I grow in spiritual awareness and transform into the Christian that I am supposed to be.

Dearest God, I offer up each day to you and hope that I do well. Sometimes I fail but now I see that weakness immediately and attempt to change. Thank you for making me aware of my shortcomings and helping me purify my heart. Amen.
