“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by[a] one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.”            1 Corinthians 12:12-14

In today’s reading, Paul speaks of how the “body of Christ” ( that is to say, the church) is made up of many parts , parts that are unique and contribute in different ways. Each one of us, as part of our church, have that uniqueness – abilities, gifts, talents that are not the same as others in our community, but that is precisely what makes us a complete body, a complete church – all of these “parts” working together for one common good – praising God and spreading the Good News to our world.

Let us pray :  Holy and Giving One, please hear us as we praise You , we sing to You, we bow to Your greatness. It is so true, Lord, that we each are special – gifts, talents, knowledge , understanding and we want to contribute as we are able. Help us to be the best part we can be, guide us to be the voice for you in this troubled, challenging world of ours , help us to help others know You, understand You, see You clearly.  Through Jesus, our Savior, we pray.       Amen.

Yours in Christ,   Rollie

1 Corinthians 12: 12-31

27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

We are the body of Christ. Through the Holy Spirit all things are revealed about Jesus. The Holy Spirit makes Jesus real to all of us. By receiving the Holy Spirit we are joined to Christ. The Church is a group of people who share the same beliefs, who hope to help change the world by sharing the life of God. It is so wonderful that I have been blessed with being part of Christ Church. I find that at this late stage of my life I have come to realize how important being part of the church family is. Being born again has been a wonderful journey for me.

Dearest Jesus, help me to remember how important it is to always present you to all I meet. Give me the grace to always follow your ways and show all whom I meet how wonderful it is to believe. Thank you for allowing me to have this second chance on this journey to you. I love you and want to do my best for you. Amen.
