6 While we were still weak, at the right moment, Christ died for ungodly people. 7 It isn’t often that someone will die for a righteous person, though maybe someone might dare to die for a good person. 8 But God shows his love for us, because while we were still sinners Christ died for us. 9 So, now that we have been made righteous by his blood, we can be even more certain that we will be saved from God’s wrath through him. 10 If we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son while we were still enemies, now that we have been reconciled, how much more certain is it that we will be saved by his life? 11 And not only that: we even take pride in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, the one through whom we now have a restored relationship with God.       Romans 5:6-11

Christ died on the cross to save us – not so much IN our sins , but FROM our sins. And, as we read here, we were still sinners when this great sacrificial act happened. Rather than us paying the price for our own mistakes, it was Jesus who paid the price for us. We were not deserving or worthy of this act, but still, He did it !  He died for the sinners, the unrighteous. So because of what Jesus did, rather than being guilty of our mistakes, we are found not guilty. Jesus took that blame, that guilt upon Himself. The sacrifice of the Lamb of God is the great reconciling of God back with us ( the “restored relationship with God”).

Let us all pray please – God our Father, indeed You brought Your Son into the world to die for us, instead of us dying in our sinful state. He was victorious over death and sin and Satan , we are so grateful for this act of love, of reconciliation back to You !!  Help us, LORD God, to never ever forget this giving up of His body so that we can once again live and believe and grow with You, our God. We pray all these things and many more through Jesus, The Christ.   Amen

Yours in Christ  ,  Rollie

Romans 5: 6-11

8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

John 15: 13 Greater Love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. NIV

No greater love. What a wonderful concept to think about. To be loved in this way even before I was born. To know that Jesus died for me years ago knowing that I would not be perfect but that he loved me anyway. I am so blessed to have been given the faith and hope for eternal life.

Dearest Jesus, you died for all of us sinners. You did this without questioning why. You did it out of love for the Father and us. Yesterday I was pricked by some thorns and immediately thought of you. I said, “Now I know how Jesus felt”, but did I? I cannot imagine the pain and suffering you went through for us. You did it without question. Thank you. Amen.
