20 Most important, you must know that no prophecy of scripture represents the prophet’s own understanding of things, 21 because no prophecy ever came by human will. Instead, men and women led by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
2 Peter 1:20,21

God’s Word has much wisdom shared by the prophets of old – Elijah, Jeremiah, Isaiah, to mention a few. What these men imparted to us was certainly not their own views or musings, most certainly not. Peter tells us that here, that what we read from the prophets is what was spoken to them by God Himself, and their action were very much Holy Spirit led.

Let us pray together :  All Knowing and Loving God – Your Word has so many incredible examples of the great knowledge and wisdom that you shared with the prophets of old – and through the guiding and watchful hand of the Holy Spirit, these men and women were then led to speak to us in the written words we have today, informing us about You, foretelling what was to come , again from You and Your loving hand. Help us, Lord, to read, to understand more, to believe , and to share with our world all of the wonderful news you shared, the Good news of our Savior Jesus, in whose name we pray.  Amen.

Yours in Christ  ,  Rollie

2 Peter 1: 20-21

21 For prophesy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

The Bible, the true word of God. Written by men but choreographed by God through the Holy Spirit. This is what God said and it is still true today. It is the absolute unchanging truth about how we are to live. The Bible is the message from God, written by men, to mankind!

Dearest Lord, thank you for giving us a blueprint of life and how to live it. The Bible is a history book and one that will lead us to you. It has become a very important part of my daily life and I am so glad for that. I read it and am amazed at all you did for us and continue to do. I love you dearest lord, amen.

20200910 Wed, Daily Devotion - 2 Peter 1:20-21

[2 Peter 1:20-21, NLT]
20 Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet's own understanding,
21 or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.

The Word of God was written by the people who were inspired and moved by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the authority of the Bible is unapproachable by any other authorities, which is the top authority in the world because it is the Word of God. It was written via the hands of the people who were inspired and moved by the Holy Spirit beyond sinful nature and humanistic characteristics. This is the reason that people who want to understand the true and deep meaning of the Bible must be inspired and moved by the Holy Spirit.

Father, thank you for giving us the Holy Spirit to understand Your Word. Guide and lead us into the deeper presence of the Spirit to understand the deeper understanding of Your Word. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
