Our Daily Devotion for Monday, November 9th, 2020

8 Discipline yourselves, keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in your faith, for you know that your brothers and sisters in all the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering. 10 And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you. 11 To him be the power forever and ever. Amen.      1 Peter 5:8-11
 
In today’s reading, we see that Peter has given a group of instructions, if you will, on how we as workers for Christ are to be leaders in our church, doing so with willingness and by example of our lives. It is important for all of us ( as it was for the leaders back then) to stay alert. Satan will always lurk around , like the lion stalking prey. We can and need to resist his efforts by staying steadfast with God, for He will strengthen and support us always.
 
Let us pray together please – Holy and Loving God , You indeed are our strength through all times and all situations. Through Your great grace and love, You are the fountain that restores us. Protect us LORD, from The Evil One ;  guide us and help us to live lives that worship and praise You alone. With You beside us , who can possible be against us ?    Thank you for Your love for us. It is through Jesus we pray. Amen
