11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.            Ephesians 4:11-13

Once again, Paul brings to our minds the concept of “shared work” – God has not equipped all of us with the same abilities, we each have unique and important talents to help Him with the work of building His church here in our world – we have preachers, we have leaders, we have teachers, we have workers, etc. Even though we are individuals, we are part of that One Body – His Church.

Let us pray together : Dearest God, the architect of our lives, thank you for bringing diversity in our life. We are individual people, but also one body for you, using the talents you have given to us, to help each other learn about you, to help each other grow in Your sight. Guide us Lord to use our abilities to their utmost, all to Your praise , and to the Glory of Your Son Jesus, in whose name we pray.       Amen.

Yours in Christ , Rollie

Ephesians 4: 11-16

16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

Christ is the head of the Church. As members of this Church we need to be fully committed to accomplishing our task given to us by God. We need to bear witness to the world that we believe in God and we all need to work in harmony to get that job done. We should be growing in grace and knowledge and love. It is important to work in harmony.

Dearest Jesus, keep us working in harmony in order to get the message of the Church out to all. Help us to always work together to do that. We will follow your lead and hopefully accomplish that task. Amen.
