Today's PrayerEsther 7:1-6, 9-10; 9:20-22
Esther, a very beautiful minority woman who had great courage, was a lover of justice for the underprivileged, using her privilege to save her people.
O, God of All of Your Children,
It is my prayer that we can realize and experience the power of Esther’s life story. Keep us mindful that each one of us has her qualities: courage, privilege, lover of justice, ability to use her station in life for good. Guide us and let us stand up for those in need “in a time like this.” We are all suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic, results of war, climate actions that devastate our land and your people. All this has brought us much anxiety, social isolation, mental challenges that we may not understand or know how to deal with.
Lord we need you in our life.
We need to trust that you, O God, are here with us “in a time like this.”
guide us in our actions showing the love you have shown us.
Let us show support and comfort to those in need of comfort.
Let us give food and shelter to those who are hungry and homeless.
Let us be your eyes to watch for times to help
and ears to hear the pleas voiced.
Let us honor you by being as brave and courageous as our sister Esther.
In Jesus name we pray. AMEN.
