Sunday school children made Christmas ornaments December 14 to raise awareness and money for Imagine No Malaria.  They put sparkly net into glass ornaments and added a tag and red or green ribbon.  They made 24 ornaments and raised $70.00 from a very generous congregation. 

IMAGINE NO MALARIA  is an extraordinary ministry of the people of the United Methodist Church, putting our faith into action to end preventable deaths by Malaria in Africa.  This preventable and treatable disease, transmitted through the bite of a mosquito, claims 655,000 lives each year.  

This initiative focuses of four key areas:

PREVENTION by distributing insecticide-treated nets and teaching families how to avoid malaria. 

​EDUCATION by training a grassroots network of community health workers. 

COMMUNICATION by delivering lifesaving messages about malaria and how to prevent it. 

​TREATMENT by improving diagnosis, case management and access to medication.

As of early 2014 there have been 11,600+ community health workers trained.  There have been 2,300,000+ bed nets distributed.  There have been 4,600,000+ lives impacted.  There have been 300+ new clinics in operation.

This is faith in action!
We raised $300 at Pumpkinfest (a community celebration in October).  We had a Bake Sale, ice cream and a display about Imagine No Malaria.

They raised $40.00 one Sunday and then made a few more and our District Superintendent bought them and added $40.00 more

This past June we took part in another Community Celebration called Old Home Day.  We had games for children to play and free Ice Cream.  We had our Imagine No Malaria Display and a donation Jar.  Between that and the next Sunday in Church we raised another $100.00. Below are images from this day.
